My Region

The Eastern Township’s Brome-Missisquoi region is situated 45 minutes South-East of Montreal, between exits 48 and 90 on Highway 10; its southern perimeter meets the Vermont border. The area has a diverse landscape comprised of mountains and plains, forests and farm land, which are divided by a variety of rivers, lakes and streams. From the top of mountains like of Brome, Pinnacle or Mount Sutton, some of Quebec’s most spectacular panoramic views can be seen. The region boasts winter sports activities, hikes and sight-seeing; it’s a getaway of choice for everyone who would like to renew their energy without being too far from urban centers, such as Montreal, Sherbrooke or Burlington. There are an abundance of outdoor activities. For those who love the picturesque, Brome-Missisquoi offers some delightful discoveries like covered bridges, round barns, panoramic or historic routes, the Wine Circuit and pretty, century-old, painted wood houses.

The Townships have a remarkable ecological heritage and hold the largest outdoor and private conservation area in Quebec. It is protected in perpetuity, measuring 12 044.53 acres in the forested areas of the Sutton Mountain Range, and borders the Sutton, Potton and Bolton-West municipalities. This natural reserve is a part of an ambitious nature conservation project that spans the length of the Appalachian corridor, led by the ACA.

Sutton Mountain Range ranks amoung the highest summits in Quebec. It reaches its highest point of 932 m. at the Round Top, one of the hikers’ favourite viewpoint.
