Sutton, my Village

As a part of the Eastern Townships, and more specifically Brome-Missisquoi, Sutton is a village not to be missed. It is a town with 3 700 inhabitants, situated an hour and fifteen minutes from Montreal and less than three hours from Quebec. It is rich with cultural dynamism, has a ski hill celebrated for its glades and magnificent natural park, beautiful landscapes, numerous possible activities, and quality services which all contribute to a privileged residential and holiday location, at any time of the year.

The village, at the foot of the mountain, is lively both during the day and at night. Enter a store, restaurant or café and you’ll find a warm atmosphere and products and services that are so fine in quality that you’ll find it difficult to believe that you’re in the country! There is an array of choice of places to stay and restaurants, with something for every taste and budget.

The municipality undertook a major project to bury its Hydro Electric wires on Sutton’s main road. This project has been finished in the spring of 2008 and has given the village even more style; enabling it to better present its beautiful buildings that are typical of heritage Loyalist architecture, as well as its no less than four churches.

Because nature is a continual source of creative inspiration, Sutton has the particularity of being host to a large number of artists. This cultural momentum can be felt in the village’s dynamic community, where one can visit several art galleries, attend jazz or blues festivals, participate in evening storytelling, music, cinema, theatre or even improvisation. There are also many other spotlighted events that take place throughout the year.

In Sutton, there’s so much to see and do!
